  25.                         Compu-Ads
  26.                         =========

  28.     This disk is PD and can be distributed freely. But no files may be 
  29. altered or deleted without the expressed permission of the person who
  30. submitted the ad, or me! The disk will be recompiled once every month or
  31. when ever I have enough ads to fill one disk.
  32.  
  33.    This disk is a noticeboard for anyone who wants to advertise anything or 
  34. who would like to know if anyone has a certain item for sale. It is just 
  35. like the `Reader`s Ads` column in many magazines.

  37.     If you would like to have an ad displayed on this disk, then please

  52.             PLUS the size of all the needed files!),

  61.                         Declaration

  64.     If you decide to place an ad on the Compu-Ads disks, you must include a 
  65. copy of the following declaration...

  67.         `I know what copyright is and I will be responsible for any
  68.     litigation arising from breech of copyright or for any other
  69.     reasons, as a result of using my submission.

  74.                         The Ad
  75.                         ======
  76.  
  77.     The ad can be any sort of file you like, it can be an IFF picture or 
  78. an ASCII text file or an IFF animation or a program. It can be anything as 
  79. long as you supply the files it needs to run. The icon of the ad can be 
  80. what ever you want, if you do not supply an icon the default `Compu-Ads` 
  81. icon will be used. To help you, the Compu-Ads disks will always contain:-

  83.             GoWB   - Loads Workbench
  84.             EndCLI - Closes a CLI/Shell
  85.             CD     - Sets directory
  86.             Assign - Assigns Directories
  87.             Echo   - Displays text
  88.             MMPP   - to display text files
  89.             PPshow - to display IFF files
  90.             PPanim - to play animations
  91.             PowerPacker.library - needed for the above 3 files.

  93.     The fee for an ad on one disk is just 5p per 1k! So for example you 
  94. could have a 47,104 character text file for just £2.50! For a better 
  95. example, this file would cost just 35p because it is 7k long! (Not 
  96. including the icon)

  98.     The 5 catagories for an ad are:-
  99.             Hareware  - Any hardware for sale
  100.             Software  - Any software for sale, games, utils etc
  101.             Wanted    - If a specific item is wanted
  102.             Misc      - Anything else
  103.             Program   - Your own games or utils or demos, PD or shareware.

  105.     Once the ad has been put on to the Compu-Ads disk, your disk will 
  106. be returned to you by post. The Compu-Ads disk will be sent to 
  107. `17-bit Software`, `PD-Soft` and `United PD`, which are all large and 
  108. reputable PD stockists.

  111.                         Compatibility
  112.                         =============
  113.  
  114.     The disk will be compiled on an A500+ but the ad does not neccessarily
  115. need to be compatible with the A500+, but it is more to you advantage that
  116. your ad is compatible with as many types of Amiga as possible, so more people
  117. will see your ad.
  118.     If you know your ad will not work on some Amigas e.g. You use 256
  119. coloured pictures, then please tell me. Also if your ad needs some sort of
  120. hardware caould you also tell me so I can put a list of what each ad needs
  121. and what makes of Amiga it is compatible with.

  124.                         Hints....
  125.                         =========
  126.  
  127.   -  Remember to include your name and addres on the ad, because I will NOT
  128. act as your postman if you forget!
  129.  
  130.   -  Remember that the more eye-catching your icon looks, the more likely 
  131. poeple are going to double-click on it!
  132.  
  133.   -  If you want to put a Shareware or PD game, util or demo on this disk, 
  134. that is fine. A way to work out how many people found out about it from the 
  135. Compu-Ads disk is to just change the name on the address to send it to, for 
  136. example:-

  140.     That way you know that who ever sent you the letter, read your ad on the
  141. Compu-Ads disk!!
  142.  
  143.   -  The bigger, brighter, bolder your ad looks the more likely people are 
  144. going to remember it! A funny animation ALWAYS sticks in the mind!
  145.  
  146.   -  Remember most magazine ads are priced at about 30p per word. With the
  147. 5p per 1k fee you can have a document this size for just 35p!, so you can
  148. afford to be extravagent! 
  149.  
  150.   -  Just be imaginative, a ray-traced picture will gain more replies than 
  151. an ASCII file!
  152.  
  153.   -  Try and make your ad compatible with as many makes of Amiga as possible
  154. because that way many more people will be able to see you ad. Also try and
  155. create it on a machine that alot of people will have, i.e. don`t make it on
  156. a 4000-040 with 16mb of Ram, an accelerator, graphics card etc because nobody
  157. else will be able to view the ad!

  159.   -  If you do receive any interested people as a result of your ad on this
  160. disk please let me know how many because I would like to know what responce
  161. this disk is getting.
